How We Are Funded
Full transparency on how SEOCompare earns revenue and how it affects (and does not affect) our ratings.
SEOCompare is the UK's independent comparison of AI search optimisation agencies and tools, helping businesses find the right partner for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI Overviews visibility. This site is completely free to use. Here is how we earn revenue to keep it running.
1. Affiliate commissions
We earn commission when you sign up for certain tools through our links. Current affiliate partnerships include:
- Semrush - 40% commission
- Ahrefs - 20% commission
- SE Ranking - 30% commission
These commissions do not affect our ratings or editorial assessment of any tool. We evaluate every tool using the same 12-criteria methodology regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with them. Affiliate links are clearly identified on every page where they appear.
2. Commercial relationship with Rank4AI
SEOCompare has a commercial relationship with Rank4AI, which appears in some of our agency comparisons. Rank4AI is evaluated using the same methodology as every other agency on this site. This relationship does not result in inflated scores or preferential placement.
3. Future: agency listing fees
In the future, we may offer paid featured listings to agencies. If we introduce paid placements, any paid listing will be clearly labelled so you always know which content is independent and which is sponsored.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment in exchange for ratings or rankings
- We do not publish sponsored content without clear labelling
- We do not remove negative reviews in exchange for payment
- We do not allow commercial relationships to influence our editorial judgement
Our ratings methodology
All ratings on SEOCompare are based on our independent 12-criteria evaluation methodology. This framework is applied consistently to every agency and tool we review, regardless of any commercial relationship.
